What is a Micro-credential?
A micro-credential (MC) has two aspects: the educational program itself and the certification of learning achievements within that program.
JMICRO uses the definition of MC compiled by UNESCO in 2022 based on definitions from various countries.

- A record of focused learning outcomes that certifies what a learner knows, understands, or can do
- Awarded by a credible provider and includes assessment based on clearly defined standards
- Has standalone value and can form part of, or complement, other micro-credentials or macro-credentials (including recognition of prior learning)
- Meets the standards required by relevant quality assurance
